Calangute beach is denoted with the metaphor, Queen of beaches in Goa. located at a distance of 15 kilometers from Panaji, the capital of Goa. Although there is not much especially of this beach but it attracts large number of visitors who spend good time in steeply shelving sands while its climate is best for such visits.

Empire Guest House is located in the center of Calangute village. just 5 min walkable distance from the beach. The famous St. Anthony's chapel is just 200 mtrs from Empire Guest House. One can find shopping malls, restaurants etc. at walkable distance.

Attributes of Calangute beach is that it has developed as an excellent tourist place where many shacks and shops attract hundreds of thousands of tourists under palm tree sheds to enjoy anything they like from fried prawns to beer. Trinkets prepared from seashells are common. Rainbow colored atmosphere of this beach attracts all visitors. Hippies had discovered it in the 60's. Since then its popularity has grown.

Nightlife of Calangute beach offers good respite from wildest parties one would do in the Anjuna beach. Usually bars remain open until 10.00 pm but the famous one, the Tito's at nearby location in Baga is an exception with opening time till late night though its timings shrink in the winters in December and January months.
